Many people are asking, how do I become a Christian or born again? How do I have peace with God?
Thanks for asking. First, My friend, you don't need to hide from God because of your sins. Jesus came primarily to rescue and save people like you and to set you free from sin and eternal death (John 3:17; Matthew 1:21).
He did not come to condemn you but to reconcile you back to God (John 3:17; 2 Corinthians 5:18).
Though we have all sinned against God, Jesus lovingly gave His life for us by dying on the cross so that anyone who believes in Him should not perish but receive forgiveness of sins and have eternal life (John 3:16).
Here are the steps to become a Christian, born again, have peace with God, and have the assurance of eternity in heaven:
- Confess with your mouth that "Jesus is Lord" (Romans 10:9)
- Believe in your heart that Jesus died on the cross and on the third day God raised Him from the dead (Romans 10:9)
- Call on the name of Jesus Christ and ask him to save you (Romans 10:13)
Here is a prayer you need to pray to become a Christian. Pray this prayer and mean it sincerely from your heart:
"Dear Lord Jesus, I believe you died for me on the cross, you were buried, and on the third day, God raised You from the dead. Please forgive me of my sins and save me. I confess and receive you as my Savior and Lord. Thank you for saving me. I believe that I am now saved and that I am a Christian. Amen."
